Designed for your yard

Every deck starts with a site visit. We measure, look at sun, sightlines, door height, and how you actually use the space — then sketch the layout that fits your life.

Permits handled

We pull the City of Ottawa permit, prepare engineered drawings if needed, and book the inspections. You don't talk to the city.

10-year structural warranty

Our decks are backed by a 10-year structural warranty. We oversize footings, use stainless fasteners on cedar, and slope every board for drainage.

Materials we build with

Pressure-treated

Budget-friendly, widely available, the workhorse for substructure. Stains well, holds up to families and pets, and lasts 20+ years if maintained.

Western red cedar

Tighter grain, lighter, more dimensionally stable. Ages to a soft silver if left untreated — the upgrade when looks matter.

Composite

Trex, TimberTech, Deckorators. Higher upfront cost, lowest long-term maintenance, 25+ year warranties. Substructure stays PT.

Frequently asked

Do I need a permit for a deck in Ottawa?
Most decks higher than 60 cm (about 24") above grade or attached to the house need a permit from the City of Ottawa. We handle the application, drawings, and inspections as part of the build.
Cedar, pressure-treated, or composite?
All three are valid. Pressure-treated is the budget choice and our default for substructure. Cedar is the upgrade for visible surfaces and railings — it ages beautifully. Composite (Trex, TimberTech) costs more upfront but is the lowest-maintenance option long-term. We walk through the trade-offs at the consult.
How long does a deck build take?
A typical 200–400 sq ft deck is 2–4 weeks once the permit is in hand. Larger or multi-level builds, integrated pergolas, and custom railings extend the timeline.
Do you do railings, stairs, and lighting too?
Yes — every part of the deck. Aluminum balusters, glass panels, cedar caps, custom stair runs, and low-voltage stair / post-cap lighting are all in-house.
What does it cost?
Costs vary with size, height, structure, and material. We give a fixed quote after the on-site consult — no ballparks. Most of our deck projects fall between $15,000 and $60,000 turnkey.
